Northumberland Environment and Climate Fund >

*Applications are currently closed*

Everyone across Northumberland has a part to play in our net zero journey. The Northumberland Environment and Climate Fund has been set up by the council to help community organisations acheive their climate change goals.

There is £55,000 up for grabs in grants of up to £5,000. If your project meets all the criteria but is significantly bigger than the £5,000 upper limit, please do get in touch with the Climate Change Team.

What we will fund:

Successful projects will demonstrate a direct contribution to reduction of greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide) and/or to win over heart and minds through behaviour change and education. Projects should align with our priorities as listed below. We are also interested in funding projects that support innovative sustainable agriculture ideas. This may include ideas such as community farming or low emission practices such as fertilizers.

Carbon emissions

Projects that reduce carbon emissions and other climate warming gases

Engagement

Heating

Schemes to reducing heat loss and heat waste in your community

Transport

Schemes to reduce the need to travel and increase cycling, walking and use of public transport

Energy
