Energy grants and advice>
Household Support Fund
The Household Support Fund is available to improve home energy efficiency for eligible residents within Northumberland, whether you are a homeowner or private or social housing tenant.
All applicants will receive a home visit from a Community Retrofit Advisor to determine eligibility and the needs of the household.

The fund covers the following:

Energy Advice and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
-
Energy advice including adding to priority services registers.

Repair, replacement, servicing or safety checks of appliances and boilers (including oil and electric heaters).

Efficiency Measures such as insulation, draught-proofing, radiator reflective panels, window coverings and efficient heating controls.

Commissioning structural surveys and undertaking necessary repairs.
-
Identifying, treating, and preventing damp and mould growth.
-
Installing appropriate ventilation systems.
-
Surveys to identify the presence of asbestos.
-
Carbon monoxide detector installation
-
Batteries for alarms (smoke and carbon monoxide)
-
Low energy lighting
-
Oil filled temporary heaters and help towards the cost of running them.

Water repairs

Qualifying criteria
Must have a vulnerability
AND
Savings limit MAXIMUM £50k
AND
Household income less than £36k
OR
In receipt of a MEANS TESTED benefit
OR
Have an exceptional vulnerability

Home Upgrade Grant>
You may be eligible to apply for energy-saving improvements to your home which could:

Privately rented tenants should make the application but we will require consent from the landlord for the works to go ahead.​
Community Energy Advisors>
Our Community Energy Advisors provide telephone calls and home visits giving you impartial advice and information about grants, energy efficiency, water heating and consumption, renewable energy, and low carbon heating options.

Gas Safe Fund
Gas Safe Charity can provide a hardship fund to identify and provide practical gas safety interventions, such as the replacement, repair and servicing of dangerous, faulty or inefficient gas appliances and installations that put the safety of vulnerable people at risk in their own homes. Grants of up to a maximum value of £500 per intervention and only one intervention per household.

Anyone who has an income of less than £36,000 or has a disability/health condition and needs their boiler repaired/serviced can apply.
