The Crisis and Resilience Fund

The Household Support Fund and Northumberland Emergency Transition Service (NETS) ended on 31 March 2026. From 1 April 2026, The Crisis and Resilience Fund is now in place and will operate across Northumberland until 31 March 2029.

Warm Homes: Local Grant

Through Government funding, we are helping to install:

  • Insulation for walls, roof and floor

  • Low carbon Heating measures such as air source heat pumps, high retention storage heaters and heating controls

  • Renewable energy generation such as solar panels

 

To apply for Local Grant applicants must:

  • Own or live in a home with an energy rating of D, E, F, or G.

  • If no ECP at property this will be carried out under the grant funding.

  • Household must NOT have savings or capital over £100,000 (second homes) - not including home you are occupying.

  • Owner occupier or private tenant.

  • Someone living permanently on a means tested benefit.

OR

  • Have an annual gross household income of £36,000 or less.

OR

  • You live in a certain postcode area (postcodes are provided via the link below).

Community Energy Advisors>

Our Community Energy Advisors provide telephone calls and home visits giving you impartial advice and information about grants, energy efficiency, water heating and consumption, renewable energy, and low carbon heating options.

Build a tailored refurbishment plan for your property>

Input your postcode, budget, and priorities into our plan builder tool which can create a tailored refurbishment plan to help you improve your home's energy efficiency.

Social Housing Fund

We are ensuring that Northumberland council tenants have warm, energy-efficient homes and lower fuel bills. Over the next three years The Warmer Homes Team is working to improve the energy efficiency of over 400 council homes through this scheme.

 

We will be sending a letter if your property has been identified as potentially eligible for the scheme. Our Community Retrofit Advisor will be contacting you to book an appointment to visit you in your home to discuss the works and answer any queries.

Gas Safe Fund

Gas Safe Charity can provide a hardship fund to identify and provide practical gas safety interventions, such as the replacement, repair and servicing of dangerous, faulty or inefficient gas appliances and installations that put the safety of vulnerable people at risk in their own homes. Grants of up to a maximum value of £500 per intervention and only one intervention per household.

Anyone who has an income of less than £36,000 or has a disability/health condition and needs their boiler repaired/serviced can apply.
